13 Apr Meet Tanya Brown, PhD, TESS Research Program Manager
Q: What is your role at TESS Research Foundation?
I am the Research Program Manager.
Q: How does the work you are doing have the potential to help those with SLC13A5 Epilepsy?
My role at TESS is to understand the science surrounding SLC13A5 Epilepsy so that I can make it accessible to patients and their families. I also help find ways that academic researchers and industry partners can work together to drive the science forward to find a cure for SLC13A5 Epilepsy.
Q: What inspires you to contribute your time and skills to TESS?
I am excited to be a part of TESS Research Foundation so that I can use my scientific background to help patients and families understand the science behind this condition and also advocate to keep driving the research forward. My mom had Multiple Sclerosis and it was so helpful to talk to people who could interpret the science behind MS to my family and me. I hope that I can help other families in a similar way.
Q: Have you learned anything through your work with TESS Research Foundation that you’d like to share?
This is a wonderful, supportive, and resilient group of people to work with!
